Garrett is a self trained painter working across different mediums, in love with the narrative, and devoted to being just a bit off. He proclaims to be a painting dummy and BBQ enthusiast. In a 2024 statemet of purpose he stated — “To become the artist I hope to be, I must leave the comfort of my representational and symbolic ways where I paint and draw with the language of symbolism and realism, and find a new way (or new to me at least). I must learn to speak with the language of art, using every medium to find the vocabulary and syntax. Then, if I have the resolve, I will try to teach the paintings to speak on my behalf using this visual language.”
