Grass Stains and Flip Flops: A Summer Group Exhibition

Grass Stains and Flip Flops is a tribute to the humid Georgia summers we know and love. Works presented should have an authentic Atlanta summer vibe and maybe even a touch of southern soul. The summer of 2021 will be especially precious to most for many reasons. Let’s lift a glass to safely enjoying the outdoors again while living it up to fireflies, hot summer nights, and local artwork made by artists who move our souls.

CALL FOR ENTRIES:

Arches Brewing Art and Frame Worthy Gallery proudly announce our 2021 summer group exhibition — Grass Stains and Flips Flops. This is a juried exhibition. We are looking for submissions from all artists. The following formats will be considered — 2-D, 3-D, written work, short film, and even performance.

We are seeking already realized and ready-to-go work, no proposals please. Work should have been created within the last 18 months. All pieces should be available for sale. Written works, film or performance submissions can work with the curation team on options for marketing/selling your work if desired. Physical exhibition works will be on display inside Arches. Film works will be projected on our indoor projection screen. Performances can occur during the opening reception and at other coordinated times during the run of the exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY:

This juried show is open to artists 18 years of age and older.

FEES:

There are no fees for submission.

CONDITIONS AND RULES:

Entries accepted for exhibition must have a professional appearance. Two-dimensional artwork must be mounted with hanging wire or other hanging apparatus and be immediately ready for the wall. Our gallery reserves the right to not accept works that do not represent what was originally submitted and accepted. Artists may not substitute another piece for the accepted work.

Artists are encouraged to submit 2-3 works for consideration. Ideally, 2-D works should aim to be under 30x30 inches to accommodate a variety of artists on our limited gallery wall areas. Other works will be judged on how we can safely accommodate them inside the space. Outdoor sculptures are a possibility, though they should be ready to handle nature and the public during the show run.

Entries for sale must be priced with the intent to sell. An online payment format must be provided by the artist — we prefer Venmo. The curator will ensure proper sales transactions and maintain accurate records. Artists always receive 100% of sales.

Artists grant permission to Arches Brewing Art, Frame Worthy Gallery and Arches Brewing to reproduce accepted artwork for promotional uses in both printed and electronic forms.

NOTIFICATIONS:

Finalists will be notified by email. Artists whose work has been selected will be responsible for the delivery of work to Arches Brewing by July 3, 2021. Delivery and return instructions will be provided with acceptance notification.
