Parliament of Fowl

I dreamed a little dream. A dream of wild, colorful birds, over and over again, and I still do. I created this colorful collection of paintings to share tiny glimpses into my recurring dream - intense, beautiful birds calling out to one another, to Spring, and to me. Then I read a little poem. A poem about a dream. A dream that the writer passes through a beautiful landscape, through Venus’ dark temple, and into the bright sunlight where Dame Nature oversees a flock of birds. Fowl of every kind who are gathered - on Saint Valentine’s Day - to choose their mates. The birds have a heated parliamentary debate while three eagles attempt to seduce a female bird. At the end, none of the eagles win and the dream ends welcoming the coming Spring. 

Each painting in this collection represents an abbreviated moment from my own dream. A romantic dream where the birds are calling and spring is coming. The poem is Parlement of Foules by Geoffrey Chaucer.
